Warehouse & Logistics Platform

A single platform for managing warehouses, orders and shipping

About the Company
The company is a third-party logistics (3PL) provider offering end-to-end warehousing and logistics services for eCommerce sellers and brands, from receiving and storing inventory to picking, packing, and delivering orders to customers. Its services also include international shipping, customs clearance, and returns processing. This allows clients to focus on sales and business growth while leaving day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations to a dedicated team.

To support its growth, the company partnered with Asabix to build a unified digital platform that would bring its operations together and give clients a simpler, more transparent way to manage their logistics.

Problem
The existing system lacked the controls needed to manage warehouse operations, shipping, and billing effectively. Its limitations led to shipping and billing errors, increased costs, and a poorer client experience.
  • Limited visibility for clients
Clients lacked up-to-date information on inventory, dispatch timelines, and storage charges. They had to contact account managers for routine updates, leading to slower responses and frustration.
  • Order picking errors
The system lacked adequate checks to verify items during picking. Incorrect products in orders led to complaints, replacement shipments, and additional costs to resolve mistakes.
  • Difficulty choosing shipping options
The system offered no convenient way to compare carrier rates and service options. Selecting a shipping service took longer and made it harder to find the best balance between cost and delivery time.
  • Billing and invoicing challenges
Generating storage invoices and charges for handling and shipping required checks. Missed or incorrect charges delayed client billing.
  • Returns caused by address errors
Incorrect or incomplete addresses led to failed deliveries and returned shipments. Both the company and its clients faced additional costs for reshipping and handling these orders.
  • Inflexible service pricing
The system made it difficult to set client-specific rates for packaging, engraving, and other services. This complicated custom pricing agreements and the introduction of new service offerings.

Solution
Asabix built a unified platform for warehouse operations, order management, shipping, and billing. It brings together tools for the operations team, a self-service client portal, and AI-powered recommendations for planning warehouse activities.
Warehouse and inventory management
The system manages warehouses, zones, and storage locations while tracking each client’s inventory. Movement history, current stock levels, and order reservations help the team locate items quickly and maintain visibility into stock availability across every warehouse.
Self-service client portal
Clients create orders and shipments, check inventory, track order status, and review service charges independently. Analytics, support requests, and communication history are available in one portal, reducing the need to contact an account manager for routine updates.
Order picking and shipping
Picking, scanning, packing, and shipping follow a structured workflow with status tracking at each stage. Barcode checks help prevent incorrect items from being shipped, while returns tracking gives the team visibility into how returned goods are processed and moved.
Integrations and shipping options
Orders flow into the system from Shopify and other eCommerce platforms, with tracking details sent back after processing. Carrier rate comparisons help the team select the most suitable shipping option and arrange shipments without switching between separate services.
Automated billing and invoicing
The platform generates storage invoices and calculates charges for order handling, packaging, and shipping. Account balances and detailed transaction histories allow the company and its clients to review deductions and see exactly what each service costs.
Flexible service pricing
The company sets client-specific rates for storage, packaging, engraving, and other services. Agreed pricing is applied during billing, reducing manual adjustments and making it easier to accommodate different service arrangements and individual client requirements.
AI-powered recommendations and demand analysis
AI analyzes orders and item locations to recommend picking routes that reduce unnecessary travel through the warehouse. Demand analysis helps identify popular products, plan storage locations, and prepare the team for periods of higher order volume.

Technologies
The platform is built on modern, secure, and scalable technologies that ensure reliable performance and support continued business growth.

Key Benefits
Off-the-shelf solutions could not meet the logistics provider’s needs, so the platform was built around its workflows and client expectations. This tailored approach helps the company maintain service quality as volumes grow and adapt more quickly to changing market demands.
Platform ownership and data control
The company owns the platform and controls its data. It chooses its infrastructure, sets access policies, and decides who will maintain and develop the system over time.
Development driven by business needs
New workflows, services, and integrations can be added according to the company’s priorities. Development is not constrained by subscription tiers or an off-the-shelf vendor’s product roadmap.
Improved profitability
Fewer errors and less rework help lower the cost of fulfilling orders. Comprehensive service tracking helps prevent missed charges, while additional services create new revenue opportunities.
A stronger offer for new clients
Convenient self-service and transparent terms give sellers more reasons to choose the company as their logistics partner. The ability to tailor services to each brand’s needs strengthens its position in sales discussions.
Results
The custom platform brought the company’s core processes together and simplified the team’s day-to-day work. By reducing manual tasks, helping prevent errors, and automating billing, it lays the foundation for lower operating costs and a return on the investment in development.
